A holiday villa should feel simple, but the things that make it simple are often invisible: reliable internet, a TV that plays your own shows, air-conditioning that works and hot water that never runs out. Here is what is behind the scenes at Castelia.
Starlink internet across the estate
Rural Corfu is beautiful, but internet in the hills can be slow. That is why Castelia runs on Starlink satellite internet, with speeds of more than 250 Mbps shared across the three villas. In practice that means smooth streaming, video calls with family back home and quick photo uploads, even when every villa is full.
Need to check in with work? The connection is fast enough for video calls and email. Please note the villas do not have a dedicated desk or office corner; most guests work from the dining table or the terrace.
Smart TVs with your own streaming accounts
There are Smart TVs in the lounge and in the bedrooms of every villa. Apps such as Netflix, YouTube and Disney+ are ready to use: simply sign in with your own account and pick up your series where you left off at home. Remember to sign out before you leave.
Cool in summer, warm in spring and autumn
- Air-conditioning (hot and cold) in every bedroom, so you sleep well in August and stay warm on cooler April nights.
- Energy-efficient wood-burning fireplace in Villa Pisti. It warms the lounge and, through air ducts, the ground-floor twin bedroom when its door is open. Firewood is available at an extra charge.
- Solar water heaters on the roofs use the Corfu sunshine to heat your water.
A pool that is gentle on skin and eyes
Each private pool and jacuzzi is disinfected by electrolysis rather than heavy chlorine dosing. The water stays crystal clear and is much kinder to children's eyes and sensitive skin.
